The size of Maccha Bowl; 5 3/16" Dia x 2 5/8" High
This is beautiful Japanese Chokudai Maccha Bowl "Oka" made in 1979
It has design of To(Tang) Sai. Go (5) sai painting of Flower and Bird.
It has the embossed seal of Artist on the side of Kodai (foot rim).
The condition of Maccha Bowl is excellent. The tea bowl never used
since 1979 because of Tea Bowl was given as Wedding gift that year.
ChokudaI Tea Bowl is Maccha Tea bowl being made matching the same thema of Utakai Ceremony (Imperial New Year's Poetry Reading) in Imperial Palace in every January. This Maccha Bowl has the title "Oka”(hill) which was made in 1979 after chief priest of Daitokuji Temple group’s Ryuoji Temple, Ohashi Korin's calligraphy writing. Also noted 1979 was the year of Hitsuji (sheep) which is written at the Utakai Ceremony by Daitokuji Temple group's temple, Toto Sangei In Seido Priest. Printed Copy of Chokudai History Date sheet since Showa 1946 is attached to item. The Tea Boal came with Kasho Bako (decorative card box). Top writing in Japanse, Mei Hachi (signed bol). Writing on the side of Box, Chokudai Chawan,“Oka". Also Japanese writing on the Bottom of box as, "Oka" Chokudai Chawan, (Iwamoto Senbi.Tea school's Teacher name), Showa 54, 1979 Hitsuji, year of Sheep).

When tea bowl pass, the host know where is spot on the bowl to present
the bowl to the guest. It is not always so as this bowl.
