The size of Covered Box: 7” Dia x 4” High, 5” H with Knob
This is fine made Kyo (Kyoto) Satsuma, Also called Awata Yaki.
It is made with Kyo Satsuma Fine Crackle Body with Aoi (Hollyhock)
grass design with Butterfly. It is decorated with Shibui coloration of
black, brown and gold as well as little bluish green. Aoi leaves as
used for Tokugawa Shogun family mon (crest).
It has signature of Kagiya Higashiyama, hand painted on bottom.
The item was made for special made on private family in 1978.
It came with original decorative carton. All design is hand painted
as marking on the bottom of covered box. It never been used,
kept in box last 47 years, mint condition.
