This is beautiful fine Japanese Vintage Bamboo Chashaku( Tea Scoop)
with the finish of Susu-take. Susu-take is bamboo piece been smoked and
aged used from old Japanese Kayabuki house ceiling by soot and natural aged
over 100 years old. Chashaku has nice contour shape. It came with
Bamboo case as well as Kiri (paulownia) wood case. It is signed with Chashaku
artist name, Senbi. Bamboo case has writing, “Hase Dera Mairi, Zo, Senbi”
(gift when visited Hase Temple by Senbi). Carton marking on the end of carton
said in Japanese, Item name, Chashaku, Type of Bamboo, Susu-take (sooted Bamboo) Purchased when visited Hase Temple.
The condition of Chashaku, Excellent. Dating Chashaku from 1970-1980.
However, as noted the age of Susutake Bamboo is much older around 100 years old
before created into Chashaku.
Hase Dera, Hase temple are several in Japan.
I believe this Hase temple from Kamakura.
