Very Rare Japanese Shoki Imari Excavated Bowl

The size of Chawan: 4 1/4" Dia x 2 1/4" High.
Measurement was taking from existing part
This is genuine Japanese Shoki Imari Excavated Chawan (Bowl).
It is dated from early Shoki Imari which dated back to 1630-50 maybe
little earlier. Shoki Imari did not have the process of making porcelain with bisque,
glazed then design painted. Porcelain making process skipped
bisque and glaze making, rather they put right into glazing and painting design done
in same time. Glazing is done in thick as you can see from the photos. Chawan has some maple like
design with Karakusa (Chinese flower) design painting with blue glaze.
The center of piece is supposed to be the half of Chawan
which has been broken off and processed in kiln which both pieces together not separable.
The weight of Chawan is 8.5 oz. I guarantee it is Shoki Imari Excavated bowl
from early 17 th century, Kanei to Seiho Period (1630-1650). Excellent sample of Shoki Imari
if you are getting into investing money into Japanese Shoki Imari.
Or just the collector of Japanese Shoki Imari.
