Susan Rios(1950- )
Born Feb, 1950 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Rios was raised and now reside in the Los Angles area. She won an art scholarship to California State University, Northridge in Los Angeles. After colle shw worked briefly for an advertising agency, and later spent five years working as floral designer: "Flower were really my first love." she says. "Their three-dimentional beauty and color have influenced beauty and color have influenced everthing I have done since. I do not think I have ever done a painting without flowers in it. After all, floweres are emotion. No heart is so hard that it doesn't respond to flowers. " Rios has her own distinctive style that doesn't pay homage to any particular school of thought. To be sure, her blend of illustrative realism and impressionist imagery evoke a soothing, cathartic response which sets her own apart from other contemporary artist today. Her serigraph has been collected by worldwide audience and collectors.
