Zeka Marquez ( 1958- ), was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, founded the Theater of Illusion at age 13, studied engraving, drawing and painting. As a boy, he went to São Paulo to design exclusive prints for the famous Rodhia parades, and since then he has never stopped. No one can imagine the carnival ball at Copacabana Palace , the most traditional in Brazil, without immediately thinking of Zeka Marquez : it is he who signs the commented, chic and creative decoration of the party for almost 20 years. Marquez is a multiple artist: poet and designer. He lived in Rio, lived in New York, lived in Paris and currently lives in Biarritz , southern France. Zeka has already decorated parties for Baron Alexis de Redé , has made head arrangements for Grace Kelly, has decorated dances such as the American Cancer Society and Unicef with Audrey Hepburn . His list of friends always featured names ranging from Placido Domingo to Margot Fontayn , from Oscar de la Renta to Rudolf Giuliani (former mayor of New York). Usually comes to the Country only once a year, exclusively for this commitment: the Gala Ball of the Cup . There, the artist's creativity is unlimited, perhaps in the only scenario in Rio to carry everything he thinks and creates: praise until the next year, when he comes back and everything resumes.
