The size of Sheet : 14 5/16" W x 16 3/8" L (36.4cm x 41.5cm), The image size : 11 1/4" x 11 1/4" ( 28.5 cm x 28.5 cm). Artist: Jef Verheyen, Belgian (1932-1984) Signed: Lower right in Pencil, Jeff Verheyen. Edition Number : 79/100. The subject: Collage with High gloss Serigraph in Colors on paper. Composition with four collages squares, black cross and circle are drawn on the paper as well on 4 colors papers which are applied on white paper. The year of made : 1962. This is rare Collage by world renown Belgian Artist, Jef Verheyen. I had this limited edition collage last 30 years when I acquired with Fini's collection which were exhibited at Galerie Lambert Monet in Geneva Swiss. This art work came together with Fini's collecton. The condition of collage is excellent, other than little creased on lower right end, lower left end and upper right corner. Some wear from age. Upper left and upper right corner has little age tan on backsheet. It never been framed. There is a couple of number written on upper right area. A couple of spots on color little off where the glue was applied to sheet. Very Minor. I will ship the art work in flat. It will be shipped via Priority mail insured. I will also enclose COA with art work. Please note art work is perfectly square. Sale $300.00 w/US priority/insured

Jef Verheyen, in full Jef Jozef Verheyen (Itegem, 6 July 1932 – Apt, 2 March 1984) was a Belgian painter. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and at the Higher Institute in painting, drawing and ceramics (with Olivier Strebelle, 1946-1954). At that institute he met Dani Franque, his later wife.In 1954 they open a ceramic studio shop together: L'atelier 14, opposite the Rubens House. From 1956 they took part with ceramics together in several exhibitions and salons in Belgium. Verheyen painted more and more and traveled to Italy (Milan) where he met P.Manzoni, R.Crippa and Lucio Fontana. Verheyen was one of the co-founders of G-58. Publishes “Essentialisme” and works in Antwerp with aoPDe Vree and E.Van Anderlecht at the “New Flemish School”. With EVA he paints a series of 10 paintings: Ni l'un ni l'autre. He got to know G.Uecker in the Hessenhuis and from the early 1960s he took part in the numerous ZERO exhibitions. Jef Verheyen works together with the Zero members and plays an important role as contact person for the group and the artists in Belgium. In 1974 Verheyen settled with his family in the south of France. There will be retrospective exhibitions in Brussels: PSK and Geneva. In the early 1980s he published engravings with texts by IVO MICHIELS and Guy Vaes. Verheyen died after a heart attack on the tatami in Apt on March 2, 1984.
