Amazingly Fine Rare Japanese Makie Kobako, 19c

The size of Makie Kobako: 3 3/4" Long x 3" Wide x 3" High. This is Amazingly Fine Japanese 19 th Century Japanese Antiques Makie Kobako(small box). The Kobako has Roiro(black) background Makie with Hira Makie gold design of Japanese trees as well as Japanese Kamon(family crest). One tree looks like Magnolia tree with flowers. It is finely done. The Kobako came with inside tray as well. The side of Kobako with Red Makie finish over cloth texture finish as photo showing. Between red makie cloth finish, there are raised Roiro Makie finish intricately worked around entire Kobako evn with heart shape open works. Bottom box has two brass parts for Himo with design on it. It came with original Himo. Himo color has been faded by the age. The tray inside fit perfect, no wobble on Kobako. It is rare survivor from early 19th Century almost 200 years old with such a fine prestine condition, none scratch even on the bottom of Kobako, very little wear. Minor note, there is one tiny insect bite hole at the right side shoulder at the end of flower as 1st photo showing. This is true Japanese Makie treasures of workmenship from Edo. Dating from 1820-1850. The Kiri wood box and Sanada Himo is modern. We invite offer price.
