Very Rare Beautiful Set of 4 pcs Chinese Tongzhi Porcelain Cups

The size of each Tea Cup: 2 3/4" Dia x 2 1/8" High . The size of Cup, might be slightly off, This is rare set of 4 pcs Chinese Qing Dynasty Tongzhi (1862-1874) period Fine Porcelain Cups with very fine detail polychrome painting with Chinese Lady sitting at nest to Two large rock formation at front of fence, bamboo grass, cherry blossom like tree behind. Each cup has finely painted Chinese lady with colorful costume done in green, yellow pink, blue. Each lady's hairlines are exceptionally and finely painted, as well as the expression of face of each cup are great. Plus details painting of tree's bark lines. Please note my photo polychrome work are not showing well. Each cup have Qing's Tongzhi marking seal on bottom of cup. As my photos with lighting showing, the cup was made very thinly as eggshell porcelain work. The thickness of Cup wall is 1.5 mm (1/16 ").

The condition report as following, all cups are in fine condition, no chip, no crack and no hairline. Detail condition of each cup. The number of cup from left to right, 1st cup – one little minor Kamahi (kiln flaw spot) as marked with tiny green paint at the edge. I circled the spot with red round marking. One small Kiln flaw indentation spot next to foot rim (photo showing). One spot of blue dress has enamel paint repelled, not by paint flaked off. 2nd Cup – A couple of frits inside and outside as you expected on this old porcelain cup. 3rd Cup – one paint drip at the near the edge of cup on tree. One Kamahi spot inside bottom as photo showing. 4th Cup -One little Kamahi spot inside bottom. All cups are excellent condition with a couple of frits on the wall side. The edge of each cup has gold finish but by the age the color appearing little different.

Provenance of cup is from my own collection since 1972 when I worked at Importer of Decorative Art in Dallas, Texas. I had this set since then. When Richard Nixon visited China in 1972. My old boss was already in China thru Hong Kong thru by his agent have purchased Chinese porcelain of all kind vase, plates, dishes, Ivory carvings (vegetable with grass hopper etc.), Jade carvings, Snuff Bottle (including horn bill snuff bottle), and paintings. They were all stored in China and imported as soon as US-China started trading. He was a first person who imported Chinese Antiques of Red China. I worked in his warehouse and opened all of these Chinese goods. This is a set I purchased then. It has been stored away last 47 years, never been used during these years.
