| The size of each Tray: 10 3/8" Square x 1 13/16" High. Beautiful Japanese Roiro Taka-Makie Lacquer Tray Set. Each Tray has roiro(black) lacuqer finish with gold makie design of birds and boat scenery. The bird and bamboo pole and boat has gold kirigane work. Boat has also togidashi work as well. Tray with the feet. The side of tray with cut corner as well as hanzori(curve out) finish. The condition of all five tray are excellent, There are some used scratch spots on few of trays but they are not major one because of age used. A couple of top edge with minor nick but it has been touched up. Same things on lefs. Some degree of wabbles on the legs due to age. Can be stopped with felt tips. All five tray has no crack and no joint separation and sit well. Dating from Edo Kouki(late Edo), early to mid 19c. | |||||||||||
