| The size of Haisen Bowl: 6 1/8" Dia x 4 3/8" High. Beautifully painted Japanese Ko Imari Sometsuke Haisen Bowl. Haisen is bowl which used for washing the sake cup with water inside. This is very handsome Haisen bowl with the detail design of Taka(Japanese hawk) with vine, ground and grass design around inside bowl. The hawk feather has Shiranuki(white knock out) technique finish. The outside has wisteria design with birds around. The foot rim area with leaves and geometric design finely painted. The condition of Haisen is excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. A couple of small hittsuki spots inside bottom. Dating from Edo Kouki(late Edo), 1830-40 Tenpo period. | |||||||||||||||
