| The size of Charger : 9 3/4" Dia x 1 1/2" High. Is is one of most unusual Kutani Charger ever seen. It is make of porcelain with some sometsuke design (blue underglazed). It has Sansui design in detail with gold works on the left. It has a window of Shichifukujin(7 lucky gods) design wonderfully painted with details accented with gold works. The backside with treasure design. It is marked Kutani with underglazed. I never seen Sometsuke work on Kutani piece. The condition of charge excellent, other than a couple of spot with original kiln flaw as the last two photos shoing. One hittuki, and other one with indentation glazed. There is a couple of original kiln spots which are not hit and damage. One left side of Kutani marking which I show on No.11 and No.12 photo. One tiny kiln flaw hairline in. both are done while in kiln and they are in glaze, also they are only on one side not going thru to other side. Both are does not catch by finger nail. The sureface glazing are smooth. This kind Kamahi often happened to Kutani pieces. Both line does not goest thru front of charger. The sound of charger is fine sound. This does not taking away of beautiy and rarity of this plate. Dating from 1800-1850, late Edo. No scratch on sureface. Gold work ketp well too. | |||||||||||||||
