| The size of Dish: 7 1/2" Long x 4 7/8" wide x 1 1/4" High. Very unusual Japanese Nabeshima and Kakiemon Style Oblong Porcelain Tray (Nagazara). The tray has very nice Yokoku(relief) work on clouds as well as wave design. The design subject of Mt. fuji with sunrise on left side. Forefront area with Rock, maple tree and wave design with Chidori(Japanese plover) birds. The maple are painted with Kakiemon style work. The size of tray has Nabeshima Botan Mon(nabeshima featured design)nicely painted with red. Each end of tray has butterfly design painted with blue underglazing. Kodai has Kushi-Me(comb design) painted nicely. The condition of tray is excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. A couple of glaze hitttsuki and little wear. The sunrise had gold radiation design, but it has been worn from age. There is one tiny Kiln flaw as the one of foot rim area with glazed(a king of pimple). It is maked with Uzu Fuku(swirling Fuku) marking. The tray has little wobble. Dating from 1870-80, early Meiji. | |||||||||||||||
