The size of Silver Cup: 3 15/16" Dia x 1 1/2" High. Japanese Sterling silver Cup made by famous Kyoto Kama-shi, kinko(metal artist) name Jirobei. The silver cup is sterling silver weighs 113 g(4 oz). Nice weight. Top has gold finish with the design of Manji(swastika). It is not same side as Nazi used Manji. Their swastika is Migi Manji(right swastika). This one is Hidari Manji(left swastika) which is symbole of good luck. It is often used as Japanese family mon. This Manji design has been carved(embossed). It is signed with Jirobei in the center of back side with Jungin(pure silver) marking in Japanese. It came with Tomobako with Jirobei signature as well as the blue cloth sealed with Jirobei. The condition of Silver cup excellent. Well kept condition. Dating from 1970's. Takagi Jirobei family has been making many generation for Chagama and Kama for Kyoto Chado world. They maintaining their tradition in Kyoto as Kama-za which was established since Nobunaga and Hideyoshi ear. This silver cup been made by 5th or 6th of Takagi Jirobei. First Jirobei was 1828-1885. Their family name including Josei, Jotoku who were famous Kama-shi separated from Onishi Kama-shi. The condition of Silver cup excellent. Well kept condition. Dating from 1970's. |
