The size of Sculpture: 27 1/8" High with base. 25 7/8" High without base. Base 11" dia. 18" Long. The weight 32 Lbs. This is one of famous Frederick Remington subject, "Mountain Man". I bought this sculpture in 1989 twenty years ago. The condition of Bronze excellent, no broken part of any. The base is made with metal and painted. The base has some wear around. There are some Ryokusho(natural green patina) from age. When I purchased 20 years ago, there was already some green patina. There are so many reproduction in the market recent years, but this is older piece. I do not know how old the sculpture itself, but not by recent years as you might find at Sam's club or others. The detail of horse tail and other are different. It has signature and copy right mark of Remington. It is heavy so the sculpture must be shipped via Fedex ground. Frederic Sackrider Remington (October 4, 1861 - December 26, 1909) was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor, and writer who specialized in depictions of the Old American West, specifically concentrating on the last quarter of the 19th century American West and images of cowboys, American Indians, and the U.S. Cavalry. |
