The one of master workmanship piece from Meiji's Golden age, Japanese Antique Makie(Lacquer)work over the silver box(Makie works done on silver because of heavy weight). KIKU MAKIKE KOBAKO. This is truely master work lacquer finish over the silver base(Box). The finish of Makie is TAKA-MAKIE (raised lacquer works) with Nashiji finish. There is three pattern of Taka-Makie fan shape nested over. The design of workmanship remind like OGATA KORIN. Brown tone fan with geometric design, red color fan with river or water design.
