| The size of Haisen Bowl: 5 5/8" Dia x 4" High. Beautiful Japanese Roiro Makie Haisen Bowls, Pair. The haisen bowl used for washing sake cups with water containing. The finish of surface showing wooden grain texture in purpose. It has beautiful Roiro black lacuqer finish. It has Karakusa desin inside rim. The inside bottom with Mon finish. The design outside with Cranes, Pine tree and cranes done in Takamakie(raised makie) with high quality gold. The crane has very detail work even with feather lines showing. The photos is limited to show the detail. The water finish looks as brown is done in silver. The condition of Haisen bowl is both excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. Very little wear. Gold is in excellent condition. It came with antique wooden box. Dating from Edo Kouki(late Edo), mid 19th century. 1830-50. More additional close up photos at item #862624. | |||||||||||||||
