| The size of vase: 8 1/4" Dia x 5 7/8" High. Very unusual Kyo Yaki Ceramic Vase. It is from Edo period. The vase with two ears on side of top shoulder. It is made with semi porcelain(more stoneware type) type body which is not earthen. It has crackle glazing on surface. The design of Sansui painted with Gosu blue. It has Kenzan marking on the back side area. There is also signature like on the bottom as well. The condition of vase is excellent, No chip, no crack and no hairline. There are some of age wear spots on the edge but they are Kamadashi ato(original kiln spots). Some original old glazing repelled spots as well. The indentation on the bottom is tracing of leaf and stem buried in the clay when it made and burned off in kiln. The vase was made with Turn table(Rokuro). The most unusal vase seen. The vase maybe been used as oil pot from inside. It definitely from Edo period. | |||||||||||||||
