| The size of Tray: 7 1/4" Long x 5 7/8" Wide x 1 3/8" High. Japanese Old Kutani Porcelain Rectangular Tray. The Tray is made with porcelain body. It is Ko Kutani style Tray. It has very fine detail Shippodesign with green and yellow. Four windows of pheonix bird. The center with landscape design. The backside has flower and Karakusa design. It is good size tray. The center of marking with Fuku. The kind of tray also called Ao Kutani because, Ao is green in Japanese even translatkion actual Ao is blue. The condition of tray excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. One Hittsuki spot(original kiln spot, glazing stick) at left side at Pheonix window design. The tray has little off on one edge but it sit well. Some wear at the border of landscaping design. Dating from late Edo(1800-1840). Ko Kutani is made in Arita area as Kutani piece in early Edo period. There is still discussion whether Ko Kutani was made in Arita area with Kutani style or actually made in Kutani area in early Edo. This is tray made with Ko Kutani style in late Edo period. It has Kaku Fuku mark of Ko Kutani which is identify as Ko Kutani piece. | ||||||||||||||
