| The size of Plate: 6" Dia x 1/2" High. It is very rare Japanese Ai-Kutani(blue and white kutani) Porcelain Plate. It is said Ai-Kutani but it was not made in Kutani area of Ishikawa prefecture, rather originally made in Arita area in 1660's, in the end of early Edo(Zenki-Edo). The plate is very finely made with fine quality porcelain which is very light weight. It has wonderful design of Japanese flower Ran(orchid) in the centr. The rim area with Sho chiku bai design(pine, bamboo and plum design) with nicely wave of rinka, flower petal design. It is makred with Kaku Fuku on the back. The condition of plate very good except there is one restoration(gold leafed) spot at 2:30 o'clock which has hairline of 1 1/8" long front and back. Another hairline at 5:30 o'clock at front and back in the size of 1 1/8" long, but front area is hard to find. The sureface lamost nonw scratch. Few tiny original spot around. It is great example of Ai-Kutani from early Edo. Dating Kanbun Period(1661-1672), we guarantee. | |||||||||||||
