A master of simplicity and nature, Tabusso has been present at the top international shows and is noted for his altar-piece in the Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Milan. From 1949 to 1954 he studied under Felice Casorati: "Casorati taught me to paint methodically, to be a painter who paints like an artisan... I think that what I learned from Casorati was not just how to paint, but how to live as a painter." A painter who at just 24 years of age was invited to the Venice Biennale with his works Comizio, Festa campestre and Albero caduto ("Meeting", "Rural festival" and "Fallen tree"), and who in 1955 was present at the Unione Culturale along with Francesco Casorati, Mauro Chessa and Nino Aimone. Along with Ruggeri, Saroni, Campagnoli, Fico and Soffiantino, they embarked on an astonishing artistic adventure in the spirit of deep friendship.
