Serigraph by Alexander Calder Le Dragon

The Framed Size: 14 1/2” L x 11 3/4” High. The size of Serigraph: 10" x 6". Alexander Calder's serigraph. The serigraph was prepared in commemoration of Caler's Universe exhibition September 14-October 20, 1977 at Dallas Museum of Fine Arts. It was a memento piece. It is serigraph not offset print. The dragon design was one of subject Calder painted on Branif Airline Jet. "Le Dragon America, the Friendly Dragon was hand painted by Alexander Calder upon the left side engine of a Branif International 727 at on November 11, 1975 in Dallas, Texas . the old master of modern art was supervising the conversion of this red white blue abstract of the nation's flag from a 6 foot matrix to 10,000 square foot exterior of a full size aircraft. the yellow and black signature waves on the serigraph were added by Calder in October 1976 when proof was taken to him for approval prior to printing limited edition lithograph.” These information are printed on the back of serigraph paper. The condition of Serigraph excellent. The frame has some wear from the age. Serigraph paper is thick paper. Dated 1977. It is signed on the plate and dated 1976.
