| The size of Plate: 7 1/2" Dia x 1 1/4" High. Japanese Ko Imari Porcelain Plate. The plate has the design of Ho-O(phoenix bird) and Kiri design in red and gold. There are siz sided shape which called Kiko(turtle shell) design in blue unerglaze accented with gold trim. There are also two other motif design. Outside has red bird design with vines. All nicely painted. The condition of plate very good, no chip, no crack and no hairline except noting there are several tiny spots where enamel works are flaked due to the aged. There are three spots of shallow Kamadashi-ato(it came from when the plate was taken out from the kiln) spot on the foot rim.It has red flower marking on the back. One half inch hairline at 12 O'clock at the edge, but not going over the back, it is inside glazing from original. Well balanced plate. Dating the plate from end of Edo to Meiji(1850-1890). | |||||||||||
