Artist: Fumiaki Fukita (1926- ) Title: "Wind" (Kaze in Japanese) The medium: Oil basis Origianl color print on Paper The Paper Size: 12 1/2" x 9 5/8"(31.7 cm x 24.5 cm Image Size: 11 1/2" x 8 3/8" Edition Number: 22/32 and signed by Artist in pencil, Year made: 1970 Fumiaki Fukita(1926- ) He was born in 1926 in Tokushima, Japan. His work‚“ has received many awards domestically as well as international awards since 1957, First Switzerland Trienale, at Northwest International Print Show, USA 1965, Grand Prize, at the 1967 Sao Paulo Biennale, where he was awarded the top prize in the prints section. One of the works exhibited there, Kudakeru Hoshi (Exploding star). His works has been so unique, he created the technique using the rawan wooden grain as wooden press, and his own technique creating eyeball, fireworks by using water basis color as well as oil basis colors and his subjects including abstract. By creating Fukita Wooden press machine, his expression of art world has been broaden. He is curently honarable professer at Tokyo Tama Art University. His works are rare and highly collectable. His work has been in the following museum, New York Modern Art Museum, Poland National Art Museum, Seattle Art Museum, Switzerland Art Museum, Mexico Art Museum, Tokyo National Art Museum. The title, "Wind" is exactly expressing and showing his own created technique of using Wooden grain on the work by using oil basis colors which give texture feeling can be touched by fingertip like oil painting. The circlular looking object is moving toward rightside. The color of orange which is actually red and much better in the print. So as yellow. The condition of print excellent. No stain or anykind. Great example of his work in very low edition number from 32 pieces. It is signed by Fukita, 70, also edition number 22/32 on the left as well as Japanese Kaze=Wind. Much prettier in actual piece.Photo show little bit short on top line, but it is perfectly square on the work. |
