The size of Lacquer Tray: 12 5/8" L x 8" W x 1 1/4" H. Pretty Japanese Antique Lacquer Tray(Obon). The side of tray has beatiful detail Karakusa pattern. The center of tray with Sakura(Cherry blossoms) with bird(Uguisu). The shape of tray is little different than normal. The center area of each side are little rouned rather than straight lines. It is purposely made that way. The thickness of tray are in 1/8" finely made. The condition of tray excellent for the age except noting left side bottom joint (side panel and bottom panel joint) and leftside side panel joint has been restored inside and outside due to the age. It is hardly noticed from top. The surface has little wear but not much. The tray has very little wobble due to slight warp on bottom. Dating from Meiji period 1868-1912. |
