Fine Japanese Porcelain Plate Set by Seifu Yohei III Nabeshima Style

The size of Plate: 8 1/4" Dia x 1 3/16" High (210 mm x 31 mm). This is beautiful and finely made Japanese Porcelain Plate Set of 10 pcs by Seifu Yohei III ( 1851-1914) who was Teishitsu Gigei-in (Imperial Household Artist). Each Plate is made with fine quality porcelain and thinly made. It has Sometsuke and Red polychrome design of Cherry blossoms beautifully painted. Backside edge has Sometsuke design of Tsuta (Japanese Ivy) design beautifully painted. This made very Nabeshima style. according to information from scholar of Seifu Yohei III, by Seifu Yohei III made Nabeshima style items which is this one. Each Plate has signature inscription of Seifu on the back of Plate. It came with Tomobako and two Tomonuno for 5 pcs together. The condition of bowls are excellent. No problem, and no warping on plates. Top of tomobako has Japanese Kanji writing, Seikaji (porcelain), Ozara (large plate) with chop seal of Seifu. Inside Tomobako with Yohei-zo (Yohei made) by Seifu signature as well as his chop seal. Tomonuno has Seifu Chop seal. Total weight of plates are 6.7 kg, 15 Lbs. Dating of plates from around Meiji 30, 1897.
