Zeka Marquez ( 1958- ), was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, founded the Theater of Illusion at age 13, studied engraving, drawing and painting. As a boy, he went to San Paulo to design exclusive prints for the famous Rodhia parades, and since then he has never stopped. No one can imagine the carnival ball at Copacabana Palace , the most traditional in Brazil, without immediately thinking of Zeka Marquez : it is he who signs the commented, chic and creative decoration of the party for almost 20 years. Marquez is a multiple artist: poet and designer. He lived in Rio, lived in New York, lived in Paris and currently lives in Biarritz, southern France. Zeka has already decorated parties for Baron Alexis de Redé , has made head arrangements for Grace Kelly, has decorated dances such as the American Cancer Society and Unicef with Audrey Hepburn . His list of friends always featured names ranging from Placido Domingo to Margot Fontayn , from Oscar de la Renta to Rudolf Giuliani (former mayor of New York). Usually comes to the Country only once a year, exclusively for this commitment: the Gala Ball of the Cup . There, the artist's creativity is unlimited, perhaps in the only scenario in Rio to carry everything he thinks and creates: praise until the next year, when he comes back and everything resumes.
