Japanese Sometsuke Porcelain Water Jug Seifu Yohei 4th

The size of Water Jug: 4 3/4" Dia x 6 5/16" High, 7 11/16" Long. Beautiful Japanese Mizutsugi (water jug) by Seifu Yohei 4th. Seifu Yohei 4th (1871-1951) was the son of one of most prominent artist Seifu Yohei 3rd (1851-1914) who was the member of Teishitsu Gigei-In (imperial household artist) in Meiji period.It is unusual shape Water Jug. It has the design of Sansui as well as Chinese poem writing on the other side in Sometsuke over white porcelain. Poem was written by Ogasa Sanjin. It came with Kiriwood Tomobako. The top cover written, "Seika Sansui"(blue and white landscape), "Mizutsugi"(water jug), "Ogasa Sanji Ga"(Ogasa Sanji painted). Inside cover written in Japanese, "Seika Ji, Mizu Tsugi"(blue and white porcelain water jug), "Seifu zo"(seifu made). The condition of water jug excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. The lower joint spot of spout has little Kamahi spot(kiln flaw) which was caused at the drying process on clay and bisque, but it is covered completly with glazing. The kiriwood box bottom has seal which is the name of box maker. This type seal appear on fine Tomobako. It has inscription signature of "Seifu" on the bottom of jug.
