The size of Seiji Bowl: 8 5/16" Dia x 4 1/4" High (21.1 cm x 10.7 cm). Beautifully make with fine Seiji glazing Japanese Porcelain Bowl by Seifu Yohei III (1851-1914). It is little larger than Kashi-bachi (condiments bowl) I have seen on the bowl by Seifu III. The bowl is little heaby becuase of size. It came with kiri wood Tomobako which the bowl was authenticated by Seifu Yohei IV. No writing on outside other than the label on the side said, Ni, Shichiju Shichi(77) some kind ID number. Inside cover has Japanese writing said from right side, "Hishoku-gama, Kashi-bachi" (secret color kiln, condiment bowl). There is oval shape seal of Teishitsu Gigeiin. "Sansei Seifu Seizan Saku" (Seifu III Seizan made). Net line, "Shu Yon Sei!" (succeeded 4th) "Seifu Yohei Shiki Kore" ( Seifu Yohei 4th examined this ). Chop Seal of Seifu Yohei IV (shape of rectangular). There is Seifu chop embossed seal marking inside Kodai(foot rim). The glazing of Celadon is quite heavily done as you can see from inside foot rim. The radiation of Seiji is beautifully reflecting. The round circulation is perfectly done. The condition of bowl is excellnet, no chip, no crack and no hairline. There is a couple of tiny frits inside glazing as I am showing in additional photo page. No matching cloth inside, however, there is nice padded cotton kilted protection cloth inside. No trace of being used, no scratch. The bowl sit perfectly.
