Very Fine Japanese Porcelain Kyusu by Seifu Yohei III

The size of Kyusu (Tea Pot) : 3 3/16" Dia (4" Long with handle) x 3 5/8" High. This is very finely and delicately made Japanese Porcelain Kyusu (Tea Pot) by Seifu Yohei III (1851-1914) was one of most prominent Porcelain artist who was the member of Teishitsu Gigeiin ( Imperial house hold artist member). Kyusu was made with very fine thin high quality of white porcelain. It has the design of Sarasa Yuki (various snow crystal design) at the lower area of Kyusu with Sometsuke (blue underglazing) as well as Shinsha-yu (copper red glazing, in the color of purple/lavender) underglazing in band 13/16" wide. Shinsa-yu were used on snow crystal design. There is also two spots of green underglazing spot in the center of snow crystal. I do not know how to call this underglazing type. There is also Shinsha-yu very softly done below the band area. Spout and handle has Karakusa design by sometsuke. The cover knob is done in delicate Karakusa design done in relief work which I could not photograph so small. Kyusu came with Tomobako. The top cover say in Japanese "Sarasa Yuki" "Kyusu" with chop seal of Seifu III. Inside cover, "Yohei zo" (Yohei made) with oval chop seal of Seifu III. The codition of Kyusu excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline except noting one little Kamahi (original kiln spot) with glazing repel under the Knob which our photo No. 11 on additional photo. It could caused by tiny air bubble bursted while in kiln. I am also showing how fine tea pot was made with light going thru at photo No. 12. It is wonderful Kyusu. I also listed last photo No. 12 on main page from page 88 of Seifu Yohei book by Seki Kazuo, editor and publisher. There is Yusamashi listed on No. 4 which dated Meiji 25-Meiji 30 (1892-1897) before or after Seifu III became member of Teishitsu Gigeiin. We guarantee it is made by Seifu Yohei III. Please note according to the record by Seifu Yohei III glazing experiment, he was succeeded to put glazing in Meiji 11th (1878). Also, please note inside Tomobako cover little wooden strip has been replaced as you can see. I have seen many Kyusu by Seifu Yohei III but this is best workmenship seen. It is jewel of Seifu Yohei III work. It is appear it has not been used.
