Ms Patrick moved to New Mexico when she was 21 to mark important turning point in her life as the artist. While in New Mexico she was teaching at the Albuquerque Institute of Art, She has said that she felt what she describes as "the enveloping spiritual energy of sunlight." She began to understand and to interpret the profound relationship between the people and their environment. A deep, spiritual and philosophical belief in man's harmony with nature emerged as a unifying theme of Patrick's work. Patrick tours the dirt roads of the mountain surrounding Albuquerque and Santa Fe with props of cacti, rugs, pillow and pottery seeking perfect backdrops for her paintings.. When she find such a site. She photograph it creates the composition of light, environmental setting, and context from which she creates superb painting with a distinctive Southwest look. Ms Patrick's original paintings and serigraphs are shown at many galleries such as Jamison Galleries, and Marcus Gallery. She won the first prize in the oil painting category at the New Mexico State Fair and the highly acclaimed Most Poplar Painting award. Her work has been exhibited in Martin Lawrence Galleries throughout the United States.
