Japanese Ko Imari Bowl with unusual design 19c
The size of bowl: 6 3/4" Dia x 2 1/8" Very unsual Japanese Ko Imari Porcelain Namasu Bowl. The bowl has the design of flower motif in the center with bamboo leaves around. The side wall has two windows of phoenix bird and tropical plants. Bewteen them, gold Karakusa and spider mums design in gold and red. Very well painted. The shape of bowl is also nice with curving up. Outside has blue underglaze design. Good quality bowl. It is nice size bowl. The condition of bowl very good, no chip, no crack and no hairline. The center flower peatl area has little enamel loss. Foot rim area and outside edge with little glaze repelled from kiln. One little hittsuki(sand) inside foot rim. Dating from late 19c, end of Edo to Meiji period. 1850-1880.
